Holiday Gift Tracker
Sharing with family
Open Settings and share your family code. Anyone who enters it joins your family and sees the same gift lists. Remember that everyone in the family can see every gift, so only invite the people who should be doing the buying.
Hiding someone's gifts from them
If a person in your family is also on your gift list, open them under Lucky Ones, tap Edit, and enter the email they sign in with under Surprise protection. Their own gifts disappear from their copy of the app; they'll still see everyone else's. They can't undo this themselves, on purpose. Ask another family member to unlink them.
Reminders
Reminders are off until you turn them on in Settings → Notifications. You choose how many days ahead of an occasion to be nudged. You'll get one reminder, not a campaign.
Getting your data out
From the All Gifts screen you can export everything to CSV or PDF.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete Account. If you've already uninstalled the app, see Delete your account for how to request it by email, and exactly what gets removed.
Smoke
Smoke is end-to-end encrypted and doesn't ask for an email address or phone number. That has one important consequence: your keys live on your device and we cannot recover them. If you delete the app or lose the device, past messages are gone for good, and there's no reset we can perform from our end.
Messages expire automatically after 48 hours, or right after they're viewed if you chose that. Expiry is by design and can't be undone.
Chisel
Chisel logs workouts and nutrition, and can read from and write to Apple Health. If Health data isn't syncing, check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Chisel and confirm the categories you expect are switched on. iOS permissions are per-category, so it's common for one to be off.
Barcode scanning needs camera access, which iOS will ask for the first time you use it.
Portrait
Portrait turns an iPad into a photo frame. It can pull from iCloud shared albums or your local library. If new photos aren't appearing, confirm the iPad is signed into the right iCloud account and that the shared album is still shared with it.
Weather requires location access. Portrait is designed to run plugged in; it's a photo frame, and it will keep the screen awake.
Reporting a bug
Bugs are welcome and genuinely useful. Several fixes have shipped because somebody took two minutes to write in. Tell us what you did, what happened, and what you expected. If you can reproduce it, the steps are gold.
Privacy and your data
Each app has its own policy, written in plain language: Chisel, Smoke, Holiday Gift Tracker, and Portrait.
